Parent Update – June 15th

Good Morning ASA families:

                Well … we have made it to the last day of instruction in a very unusual and challenging school year. The last three months have challenged us in many ways but I think we have become a stronger community because of it. We have supported one another through out and we have demonstrated the strength of the ASA family. I look forward to the next few months as we continue to prepare for the “new normal.” Here are some updates for the week:

  • Today, Monday, June 15th is the final day of distance learning. The teachers have communicated deadlines and reminded students of missing work.

  • The school will be open all week from 9:00-3:00 for parents to come and clean out their child’s desk and locker. This is also the time to return textbooks and tablets if you borrowed them. Masks are required if you will not be able to socially distance within the building. Students are not permitted in the building per Diocesan directive.

  • The schedule for teachers to be in the building is attached.

  • Our end of the year Parking Lot parade is Thursday, June 18th beginning at 10:30. Please line up along the 2nd street entrance. This is a time to wish our 8th graders congratulations and good luck while also saying thanks to our teachers and students. This event is open to all ASA families.

  • Report Cards will be mailed home during the week of June 29th.

  • Yearbooks are available for pick up and sale beginning on July 6th. We have a limited amount so please contact me if you would like to reserve one.

  • Summer Program starts on July 6th. I have attached the summer health guidelines. There are limited spots available as we are under some class size restrictions. Please send me your interest/registration form by the end of this week.

  • Thank you to all the students that submitted a video for our Egg Drop and Variety Show. We are in the process of combining the videos and hope to post them soon.

  • 8th grade graduation is on Wednesday, June 24th and is open to the graduates and a limited number of their guests.

  • Beginning on July 1st, we will begin to analyze our enrollment for 2020-2021. Many families have notified me of their intentions for next school year. Thank you! If you have not made a final decision, please let me know of any questions or concerns.

  • As mentioned in previous parent updates, the local school districts will announce their plans for the fall in early July and they may include a form of modified or hybrid schedule. All Saints Academy has the advantage of small enough classes that we would not need to adjust our schedule to meet social distancing protocols. This, in my opinion, will lead to an influx of applicants. My preference would be to allow current families with siblings in the public school, the opportunity to register at ASA before I open spots for new students not currently affiliated with All Saints Academy or parish. Please share with families that are either parish families or families that don’t typically read my updates (I know … who doesn’t read my updates?????? J). We will still offer a $500 tuition credit for referring a new family.

  • We still have some ASA spirit wear (T shirts and socks) so I am offering an “end of the school year” sale.

  • In closing, I want to thank the entire ASA community for the support and encouragement during this challenging period. Thank you for showing us all what it means to be an ASA family.
